Confident, compassionate, and unapologetically real

Confident, compassionate, and unapologetically real—Eddie Talley is the kind of person who lights up a room just by walking in. A proud LGBTQ+ advocate and community leader, Eddie lives with purpose, heart, and a whole lot of style.
With a strong sense of self and a warm, welcoming vibe, Eddie brings together strength and sensitivity in all the right ways. Whether you’re sharing a deep conversation, laughing until your cheeks hurt, or marching for what’s right, you’ll feel seen, safe, and inspired in Eddie’s presence.

Bold but grounded, fun but focused—Eddie knows who he is and isn’t afraid to stand tall in his truth. If you’re looking to connect with someone who’s passionate, magnetic, and genuinely one of a kind, you’ve found him.

About Picture

The picture above is from the 1st Flag and Walk for Pride, going down Main Street in Burlington. Never thought I would be able to do that when i came out in 2004. That event was the only event that happened in 2021, all other event got canceled because of covid.

About me

I'm 52 years old lives in Elon NC (Burlington)

I came out in 2004  to some people at my job at that time. Down the road i came out to my family. Belive it or not i came out to my nephew 1st before my parents.

All of this took place as i was working on starting a group called Burlington Pride, The first meeting of Burlington Pride was July 17,2004 at the Ramada Inn in Burlington (Not there now). People was thingking i was going to have a pride event and it was only away to get to know other LGBTQ people. At that time there was no Alamance Pride or any other group to meet other LGBTQ people. The only organization was PFLAG Alamance and it was still NEW to everyone.

Never thought I would see a rainbow flag till 2015 and that was the year of the first pride in Alamance County.

Over time I have changed the name of Burlington to Pride Burlington, Out Burlington, I took a break for a little bit and came back in January 2018.
Me having people involved is what made me change the name so meny times over the years. When poeple leave, the name will change to disconnect them from what am trying to do for the LGBTQ Community. I was glad to have them to be apart of what i was trying do, I work better by myself. I not a fan of red tape. If a idea comes up I don't want set and talk about it, lets make it happen.

People try to make me sould like a bad person, am not. I have a big hart an give alot of time to make events that some of the other organizaniztions will not do.There so worried about a tax status and not be ONE community the LGBTQ Community of Alamance County.  I love the LGBTQ Community and  if I had money I would more and open a center for the community. So i do events that don't cost money. The LGBTQ Meet Ups don't cost me anything, but time to post them on Facebook and Instagram. So i need people to support the events with just coming and showing me that you enjoy them. If you have a idea of somethong you like see happen that will not cost alot of money, let me know.
